"mintier and saltier is better" 2009-09-21
By Luigi Semenzato (Oakland, CA)
You know how the flavor of Coke is different in different countries? The flavors of toothpaste differ a lot more. The flavor of a standard tube of Colgate in Italy is much mintier than in the USA (I think that Italy and Greece share the same flavor). To Italians, most kinds of toothpaste in the USA taste bland, or worse (my mother once commented that my toothpaste tasted like fish). The flavor of Dental Care is closer to that of typical Italian toothpaste than any other north-American toothpaste I have tried. So it's no surprise that I like it. Lately it's become hard to find in stores, so I am glad that Amazon is carrying it and I hope it's not going to end up like Kodachrome.

"This toothpaste is just right" 2009-08-26
By Rayal (Sonora, Ca)
I looked all over the place for this toothpaste. I do not know why the company does not place this version of product on the shelves.

Whitening versions are all that I can find and 5 or 6 types of Arm and Hammer Whitening toothpastes.

I cannot stand any of the other brands of toothpaste. Crest ect. they all taste like soap to me.

Thank you Amazon for carrying this formulation.

I am on my second case of 6.

"Great... but hard to find" 2009-06-02
By suertelou
My dentist recommended this toothpaste several years ago, but since then, stores have stopped carrying it. They still have whitening and peroxide formulas, but those weaken teeth [according to my dentist].

I never used the different formula that some reviewers refer to and miss. But this product is great. It makes my breath fresh and my mouth feel cleaner, longer than other toothpastes do. I tried switching to another brand when I could no longer buy this locally, but it's just not the same.

I realize that I sound like an ad, but I really like this product. I would be greatly disappointed if I could no longer get it anywhere. It's bad enough that I now have to order it off the Internet.

 "Still a good toothpaste" 2009-05-26
By SNACK D (San Francisco, CA USA)
I agree with the other reviewers that all the Arm & Hammer changes to their toothpaste formulas and packaging is confusing and frustrating - they shouldn't change a good product that customers like to use. However, this one seems pretty decent, and I didn't experience any allergic reactions. (I don't have any allergies except to chocolate, which gives me canker sores) I actually use this baking soda toothpaste to reduce the canker sores I get occasionally. I guess baking soda makes the mouth less acidic, which seems to help.

Maybe they've changed to ingredients again or the other fellow listing the ingredients had a different product, but this one contains the following ingredients:

Sodium fluoride, sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), water, glycerin, sodium saccharin, PEG-8, flavor, cellulose gum, sodium lauryl sulfate, and sodium lauroyl sarcosinate.

"THE PACKAGE COLORS ARE HARD TO DECIPHER" 2009-05-12
By Patrick Boufford (Scottsdale, Arizona)
THE NEW/OLD PACKAGE COLORS ARE HARD TO DECIPHER. HOW ABOUT THE OLD PACKAGE. PEOPLE DO NOT WANT DIFFERENT COLORS EVERY TIME THEY SHOP. ARM AND HAMMER NEEDS TO SLOW IT DOWN - OR GO TO HELL. I'M TIRED OF GUESSING WHAT'S INSIDE THE TOOTHPASTE BECAUSE OF COLORFUL UPDATES.

"Great product, great price (when i got it anyway)" 2009-06-29
    By J. MACLEAN (Centreville, VA.)
Regarding the product, I love it. I have sensitive teeth and I find toothpastes like Sensodyne to me unpleasant and cause a lingering bitter taste in my mouth. Colgate (and Aquafresh sensitive) does not. And it never causes tooth pain, so it works well.

Also, in grocery stores and drugstores, this usually costs close to $4, and "sales" are much rarer for sensitive toothpastes than they are for regular pastes, so it's never been cheap. But at today's price of $13.90, it works out to $2.32 per tube, which is cheap. The savings won't make or break you financially, but it's always nice to know you're getting a real bargain. I don't mind buying 6 at a time and storing them.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the product and very happy to see it here for this price, the cheapest I've ever seen it anywhere. 5 stars.

    ALERT!

I just popped by this page (Sept 10, 2009) and was SHOCKED to see a new seller "SET 4 BABY," selling this 6-pack for over $35!!! As you can see from my June 29 review, I paid less than $14. To me, anything over $21 is not worth it. But $35?

    Sept 11, 2009.

I emailed the "set4baby" merchant and they were unable to lower the price from $35, but I see now it's back to being sold by Amazon, which is a good thing. Any future purchasers of this product should just keep an eye on the ever-fluctuating price. I think if you can get it for under $3 per tube ($21 for this 6-pack), jump on it. Otherwise, forget it.

     "DISCONTINUED A GREAT PRODUCT" 2009-10-28
By D. A. Voorhees (Los Angeles, CA USA)
I am giving this a one star review for this reason: I must be one of five people who bought the Intelliclean system and loved it. Unfortunately Sonicare disocontinued the product and then discontinued supporting it with the Crest Liquid Toothpaste that is integral to the Intelliclean tooth brush. I am able to obtain the toothpast via Amazon, but at a very high price.

By K. Grady (Alpharetta, Georgia, United States)
I really do love my sonic toothbrush and I like being able to put the toothpaste pouches in the sonic holder.

As far as the toothpaste goes. I hate the cool mint flavor and wish crest would make the fresh mint flavor again.

All that being said I received this product with quick delivery.

    Thank you!

     "This is a ripoff!" 2009-03-27
By Ilium47 (New York, NY United States)
Don't think of purchasing this item, unless you enjoy being ripped-off. The Sonic Intelliclean system works well. However the manufacturer has abandoned the product and is no longer producing the replacement head tooth brushes. They are currently available at a cost of $99.95 for a package of two, four times the previous price.

Although the tooth paste tubes are a cute gimmick, you get excellent results by just applying your own toothpaste to the bruch.

Might as well look at another manufacturer's product line.

     "My Favorite Toothpaste" 2008-05-17
    By 'MaryLou Cheatham (Louisiana)
Colgate Total Plus Whitening Toothpaste, 7.8-Ounce Tubes (Pack of 6). This Toothpaste is my favorite.

The first feature is the price, and it is right.

Next, I consider whether it will be neat to use. It is. Sometimes when I buy those new hard plastic containers, they actually get messy. Also I cannot get all the toothpaste out. It is easy to get the paste out of Colgate Total Whitening Paste without spraying it all over the cabinet.

If it does not taste good, I won't use it. Some toothpaste burns my mouth so bad that brushing my teeth is a painful experience. This one doesn't burn. It tastes simply the way toothpaste is supposed to taste.

Whitening is important. This one is supposed ot whiten. After spending money to whiten my teeth, I need a product to help ward off the bad effects of coffee and tea.

Avoiding all kinds of oral pathology is a major consideration. This toothpaste claims that it can help fight cavities, gingivitis, plaque, tartar, and bad breath.

I hope this product stays on the market a long time and does not change.

     "Totally Satisfied." 2008-03-01
By Gary Peterson (San Diego, California USA)
Have you ever noticed the variety of available toothpastes? It's overwhelming! There are numerous different brands. Some contain peroxide, others baking soda, others abrasives and other exotic potions. It's a wonder some don't come with Sani-Flush as an ingredient. Then all brands seem to have small, medium, large and extra-large sizes. Did I mention travel size and trial size? What's a guy to do?

For years, I just bought one of the half-dozen brands on sale at the local food or drug store. Then, as the toothpaste wars escalated, I bought with freely-dispensed coupons and some supermarkets doubled the value of the coupons. It became such a good deal that some toothpaste was actually free. Well, my coupon days are over and I now shop at a warehouse club store where they have a limited selection but outstanding values. I asked my dentist for advice on the best toothpaste since I was totally confused by all the claims. He suggested that "Colgate Total Whitening Gel" was the best for my particular circumstances (which, by the way, wasn't the brand in the free packet of things I received with cleaning). I also noted that this particular brand/variety was highly rated by Consumer's Reports. It supposedly helped to prevent cavities with fluoride and resisted plaque and tartar buildup, which could lead to gingivitis, all while whitening the teeth. What more could I ask for? I bought a four-pack of tubes (7.8 ounces each). I've been very pleased with the toothpaste and the price was right. Only long-term usage will tell but I'm totally satisfied at this point.

This is the big size ones in its individual retail box. It's cheaper than certain bulk club retailer that sells in 4 packs and it's the smaller size 6oz or so I believe.

"Will never go back to anything else!" 2009-05-23
    By P. Lanier
Put aside the taste, tube "squishiness", color, or other aesthetic attributes for a second... as a toothpaste, Extreme Clean is WAY better than other toothpastes on the market! It foams considerably more than other toothpastes, but the result is that teeth feel extremely clean, fresh, and polished. We noticed a huge difference right away. And now, when using other toothpastes, my teeth feel noticiably "fuzzy" afterwards. It's difficult to articulate (how would you describe a premium Starbucks roast to somebody who had only ever drunk Folgers instant coffee?), but just know that we will never switch back to other toothpastes.

With regard to taste... the first couple tubes we got did taste a little odd. Sort of like when you drink OJ after chewing mint gum. But I think they may have re-forumlated the flavoring, because everything I've used since (all the different variations of Extreme Clean) has been more traditional-tasting, very pleasant.

My one (minor) gripe is that it can be a little difficult to get the lid off some tubes... seems inconsistent, though.

Even so, I would continue using this toothpaste even if it tasted like cough syrup and required a pick axe to get into. It works that well!

"Definately used better pastes than this :-l" 2008-08-03
By Little Miss Cutey (Melbourne, Australia)
I have to say that I am not a major fan of this particular paste. It's my first Aquafresh product so I can't compare this to other items they carry, but this one isn't so crash hot for my tastes.

Firstly, the tube is too squishable. Each time I try and get the lid off, I end up mutilating the tube because it's too 'soft'. I don't like the flavour - I don't find it as minty as other brands, and lastly, if some of the paste falls into the sink, it is hard to get off if you leave it there for a while. I usually use Crest or Close Up and based on this paste, I think I'll stick to them again.

PS Ending on one good note; I do think this whitens as well as other brands I've tried.

     "a grown-up Aquafresh" 2008-06-28
    By R. Phillips (NC)
I am 43 years old, and I had not used Aquafresh since I was a kid. I had moved to other 'adult' toothpastes that offered fresher breath than the blue and white swirled Aquafresh which had fascinated me as a child. Recently I had a really good coupon for Aquafresh Extreme Clean, so I thought I'd give it a try. From the first use, I was well pleased with the mint taste which is stronger than most toothpastes I've tried. I would compare it more to being closer to a mouthwash strength. This toothpaste has quickly become my favorite, and I've ditched my 20-year favorite, Close Up. This toothpaste is certainly pricier, but there are usually good coupons out there to be found.

Once I find a product I like I stick with it. I have been using this toothpaste for close to 10 years, and recently I havent been able to find it in my local stores. So recently I have bought a few different kinds of toothpaste to try out and can't find anything that makes my mouth feel so clean or that I like the flavor. So I am sooo thankful I can find it!! Even if it is online. :) If your anything like me once you try it you won't want to go back to anything else! Enjoy your clean, white smile :)

I can't describe how happy I was to find Pearl Drops at Amazon. I hadn't thought about it in years and didn't even know it was still around. Several months ago I found a tube in a local store and bought it. I fell in love with it all over again but couldn't find it again. I finally got the bright idea to search Amazon, and there it was. I will continue to order in quantity and hopefully not lose it again. It is by far the most effective tooth whitener on the market in my opinion.

     "Keeps toddlers' teeth clean" 2009-03-24
    By Z. Pham (California)
Oral B Toddler Toothpaste is the only toothpaste I use on my kids until they are about six years old. My daughter is 5 and still uses it. She loves all the flavors and it's great, because it's fluoride-free and it is safe to swallow.

I remember when I was a kid, I used to try to spit, but wasn't very good at it. I would swallow small amounts and ended up with fluorosis (stained teeth) when my permanent teeth came in. None of the kids around me got fluorosis, so I figured it couldn't be the water. Maybe I was swallowing too much toothpaste.

At any rate, the toothpaste tastes good. The children like it. It doesn't suds up like regular toothpaste, but it keeps their teeth pretty clean, as long as they brush properly. My daughter uses an electric toothbrush. She goes to the dentist regularly and they tell me she doesn't have plaque, which is pretty amazing for a 5 year old who brushes her teeth all by herself. She hasn't had any cavities, either.

     "Standard toothpaste." 2009-10-26
    By C. J. Vazquez
This is your everyday grocery store toothpaste with the added convenience of not having to get out of your house. It has a good price and the packaging and product quality is great. A fantastic option for the college student who doesn't have the time to make frequent trips to the store. A must buy.

     "Neat Squeeze" 2009-10-25
    By Debra Gewertz
I have ordered Crest Neat Squeeze before. Our family likes this tooth paste and I can't find it in the stores near me.

     "Best toothpaste" 2009-10-19
By G. S. Augustas (Garland, Texas)
Crest is my favourite toothpaste. I have used it for many years. I especially like the Neat Squeeze design. It is so much easier to use than a tube, and it wastes less. It is difficult to find in stores, and I was delighted to find it on Amazon.com.

"Convenient to buy this way" 2009-09-12
    By Candace Kury (Florida)
It's a little thing - toothpaste - but we really like the squeeze container and have a hard time finding it locally so this is a great answer. Just what I'd buy at the grocery store (if they had it) for less money and delivered. It doesn't get better than that.

Rembrandt came to be when a dentist decided to make a better toothpaste. He began by dreaming about papayas. Thaere's an enzyme in the papaya plant that naturally helps clean your teeth. This little enzyme, and a sprinkling of creative science, created something called Citroxain. An entirely new way of caring for your mouth was born. At Rembrandt, we believe having a healthy mouth goes beyond teeth and gums. We care about your entire mouth. It's this mouth of yours that literally tells the world who you are. With a little love and care, it can be brilliant. Deep cleans and whitens gently.

"I'm a smoker, works great for me." 2009-09-11
By K. L. Martin (Lincoln, NE USA)
I don't buy anything else other than Rembrandt Intense Stain. This is the best tootpaste product I've tried, and I've tried many. This product is expensive in the store. I signed up for autoship. I'll be saving money, rather than buying it in the store. My teeth feel clean, my breath is fresh, and I have noticed whiter teeth. My teeth would probably look great if I didn't smoke.

     "Pleased" 2009-03-16
    By furbabies (Tennessee)
Nice taste, seems to do well whitening. Cheaper on Amazon. Saves me trips to the store, too.

     "Love it!" 2009-01-24
    By Blowfish (CA United States)
I don't have stained teeth, but this toothpaste is great. I feel that I've tried every toothpaste on the market and this is by far the best that I have found. It's also one of the most expensive, but I feel that it is worth it. Everyone tells me all the time that my teeth are really white. I don't see what they are talking about, but I feel that this toothpaste just works!

"All the packaging is so unneccesary" 2009-08-17
By Seattle Builder (Seattle, WA USA)
I've been using this product for a couple of years and it is terrific, but somebody needs to help them with their packaging. All I want is a tube of toothpaste, not all the wasteful plastic and cardboard and promotions that I toss in the wastebasket. It is really annoying.

     "TheraBreath is Awsome" 2009-08-01
    By B. Hennings
I've lived on the face of this planet and used other well advertised toothpaste products for over four decades - I hope to never return to those products that exacerbated my nagging tonsil stone issues and appeared to have allowed coffee and tea products to stain my teeth - Twice daily use of TheraBreath toothpaste and TheraBreath rinse along with nightly tongue scrapping completely eliminated the tonsil stones, kept stains at bay, and has given me the freshest breath - THANK YOU TheraBreath!!!

     "Very good" 2009-02-05
    By Henry M.
Tastes good and if you follow exactly the instructions the toothpaste works very well eliminating bad breath.

     "Dr. Katz is awesome" 2008-09-09
    By Kagan Humber
I've been using Dr. Katz products for over a year now, and I love them. If you are going to spend a little extra money on something, what better than spending it on your teeth? Dr. Katz toothpase tastes great, is non-abrasive on your teeth and works perfectly in conjuction with the Therabreath oral rinse for good breath and oral hygiene.

     "Simply works!" 2008-03-26
By The Smiling Dentist (Beverly Hills, CA)
TheraBreath products are different from EVERYTHING ELSE on the market because they simply work. I dont like brushing with detergent and rinsing with alcohol and that is pretty much what all the other products are. Not TheraBreath - these products actually kill germs that cause bad breath odors.
